Come over and join us to discover Cleaner Energy Solution. Take a part in our workshops with interactive activities and meet the expert in this program.
Pancasains
Piezoelectrics
Visitors will explore a mini piezoelectric, where they use materials that generate electricity from pressure or movement. By pressing or tapping on the materials, they create small amounts of energy. This demonstrates how piezoelectric technology can be used as a form of clean energy, harnessing motion to produce power without pollution.
Biomass / Bio briquettes
Visitors will learn how to create biomass briquettes by compressing organic materials like newspaper or agricultural waste. These briquettes can be used as a sustainable fuel source, producing clean energy by burning them instead of traditional, polluting fuels. This process helps reduce waste and provides an eco-friendly alternative for heating and cooking.
Energy Detective
Visitors will investigate how energy is used in everyday life situation, identifying source, types of energy and ways to save the energy. In the Electrification activity, they will learn how clean energy sources, like solar or wind power, can be used to generate electricity while assemble the wind turbine set. Both activities highlight the importance of using renewable energy to create a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
Science Shows
Future Energy Solutions Show
Mangrove is a vital ecosystem that helps protect life on earth. Come & join us to know more about what makes mangrove so unique. Let’s explore parts of the mangrove tree and what we can do to preserve this ecosystem.
Water Water Everywhere Show
Water is the basis of life for all living organisms. It is a resource that should not be taken for granted. It needs to be conserved, just as we save other valuable resources in order to provide us with constant supply of our future needs. Let’s explore the unique physical and chemical properties of water and discover its importance in maintaining the biodiversity of our ecosystem.
Week Special
16th – 24 December 2023
Offering | Date | Time | Description | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|---|
Magnetic Racing Car | 21st – 22nd Dec | 12.00pm | In the Magnetic Racing Car activity, participant will create a racing car by attaching magnets to the toy car to make it move without touching it! By placing a magnet on the car and using another magnet in their hand, they can push or pull the car across a surface. This demonstrates the invisible force of magnetism and how like poles repel while opposite poles attract, making it a fun and hands-on way to explore basic physics concepts. | Venue : Science Station 1 |
Piezo Card | 26th – 27th Dec | 12.00 pm | In the Piezo Card activity, participants will create a simple card embedded with a piezoelectric material that generates electricity when pressed. By pressing the card, they can light up an LED or power a tiny buzzer, demonstrating how mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy. This hands-on activity is one of the ways to explore the science of piezoelectricity and learn about sustainable energy solutions. | Venue : Science Station 1 |
DIY Briquettes | 28th – 29th Dec | 3.00 pm | Participants can create briquettes by compressing shredded paper, sawdust, dried leaves, or other organic materials into compact blocks using simple molds or presses. Once dried, these briquettes can be used as an alternative to charcoal or firewood for cooking or heating. This activity demonstrates sustainable waste management, energy conservation, and how renewable energy sources can reduce dependence on non-renewable fuels. | Venue : Science Station 1 |
