In 2018, Petrosains organized its first robotics competition - Petrosains RBTX Challenge. 380 entries were received nationwide.
2019
Petrosains RBTX Challenge second edition was opened for the first time to International participants and recorded 1171 entries.
2020
The event was deferred to 2021 due to COVID19
2021
Petrosains successfully organized its first Virtual Petrosains RBTX Challenge due to the pandemic situation. Online learning programmes related to the competition were crafted and benefited 345 teams that registered for the event.
2022
Post-pandemic, Petrosains organized the competition in a hybrid setting (online and onsite). 1035 teams registered across all categories that contributed to 3028 beneficiaries
2023
The return of Zone Qualifying in 6 zones in Malaysia. This 2023 edition marked the highest participation in RBTX history, with 1795 teams registered and 6049 beneficiaries recorded throughout the year.
