Job Purpose :

To lead, plan and deliver high-impact corporate, stakeholder and strategic events that strengthen Petrosains’ brand positioning, corporate reputation and stakeholder relationships. The role is responsible for end-to-end event strategy, governance, execution and post-event evaluation, ensuring all events are delivered professionally, cost-effectively and in alignment with Petrosains’ corporate objectives, branding standards, governance requirements and PETRONAS values.

 
Job Accountabilities :
  1. Event Strategy & Planning
    • Develop and implement an integrated event management strategy aligned with Petrosains’ corporate, branding and stakeholder engagement objectives.
    • Conceptualise, plan and manage a wide range of corporate, stakeholder and public events, including launches, signing ceremonies, conferences, high profile stakeholder engagement, carnivals, showcases and other engagement programmes.
    • Translate business and communication objectives into impactful event concepts and experiences.
  2. End-to-End Event Execution
    • Oversee end-to-end event delivery, including budgeting, scheduling, logistics, vendor coordination, programme flow, protocol management and on-site operations.
    • Ensure events are executed smoothly, professionally and in accordance with approved plans, timelines and budgets.
    • Manage event hosting requirements to uphold Petrosains’ image and reputation.
  3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, partners, sponsors, vendors and service providers.
    • Lead vendor selection, negotiation and contract management to ensure quality delivery and cost optimisation.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and seamless event execution.
  4. Budget, Governance & Compliance
    • Develop, manage and control event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency, value optimisation and financial accountability.
    • Ensure full compliance with Petrosains’ policies, procedures, procurement guidelines, Limits of Authority (LOA), statutory requirements and corporate governance standards.
    • Uphold Codes of Conduct & Business Ethics (COBE) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements throughout all event activities.
  5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
    • Establish event KPIs and success metrics to evaluate effectiveness, stakeholder satisfaction and return on objectives.
    • Conduct post-event reviews and provide management reports with insights, learnings and recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Drive innovation and best practices in event management to enhance impact and efficiency.
  6. Leadership & Capability Development
    • Lead, coach and develop a competent event management team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and service excellence within the team.
    • Ensure succession planning and capability building to support long-term organisational needs.

Qualification & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in corporate event management, communications or stakeholder engagement, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale, high-profile corporate or stakeholder events involving senior management and external parties.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working within a structured corporate or GLC environment is an added advantage.
