JOB PURPOSE
Develop and manage a comprehensive range of public relations and corporate communications activities, targeted to Petrosains’ selected stakeholder groups and business channels in order to maintain a favourable image of Petrosains, amplify its brand, namely for Petrosains, The Discovery Centre and the PETRONAS Twin Towers Visit Operations, and promote its products and offerings while safeguarding the reputation and strengthening relationships with the stakeholders.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Stakeholder Relations
Engaging with stakeholders by developing and maintaining working relationships with relevant stakeholders that include members within the group of companies, media organisations, government bodies, corporate establishments and the general public, through liaisons established at engagement sessions, company events etc, to increase exposure and awareness of Petrosains while strengthening the confidence that will lead to the endorsement and recognition of the company products and offerings, for both Petrosains, The Discovery Centre and the PETRONAS Twin Towers Visit.
 
Event Management
Lead the organization of company functions/corporate events that involves the presence of external parties, who are VIPs or otherwise, such as signing ceremony, project milestone, anniversary, launching ceremonies for offices/products, visit by dignitaries or high-ranking associates, etc. With the aim of ensuring a smooth flow of activities with intended outcomes, that adhere to company standards and preserve the company’s reputation and image.
 
Publicity Strategies
Strategise and lead special thematic PR campaigns for the company on a yearly basis via execution of medicollaborations, ground activities, promotional events, production of collaterals etc, to further establish the brand awareness of the company and to increase reach to all stakeholders, for both Petrosains, The Discovery Centre and PETRONAS Twin Towers Visit.
 
Corporate Communications
Strategise the corporate messaging and manage the corporate communications activities of the company, via effective communication tools/platforms such as company speeches, brochures, editorials, advertorials, website content, social platform content, award submissions, etc to ensure the integrity, accuracy and consistency of company messages, information, content etc. leading to increased awareness and recognition of company. Also manage public enquiries, correspondences, research requests, internship, invitations etc from the various stakeholders and responses via feedback, comments, information etc to them, to ensure the integrity, accuracy and consistency of company messages, information, content etc.
 
Media Relations
Manage media relations activities with the relevant media platforms which include print, broadcast and digital media viamedia exercises such as engagement events, media conferences, media releases, interviews, etc to increase exposureand awareness of Petrosains and its business, and recognition of the company products and services which lead to enhancing the good image of the company.
 
Crisis Communications
Manage crisis communications, when there is involvement of the company, for both Petrosains, The Discovery Centre and PETRONAS Twin Towers Visit, its employees and the media in a crisis, by mitigating any possibility of negative reviews or damage to company reputation via print, broadcast media or social platforms, in order to safeguard and uphold the company’s image and reputation.
 
Public Inquires
Manage public enquiries, correspondences, research requests, internship, invitations etc from the various stakeholders, that is not related to visit experience, and responses via feedback, comments, information etc to them, to ensure the integrity, accuracy and consistency of company messages, information, content etc.
 
Corporate mementos
Manage the development and production of relevant corporate mementos such as diaries, greeting cards, corporate gifts,etc, aimed at maintaining a good rapport with relevant stakeholders and for brand exposure purposes.
 
Budget Management
Plan and manage the Corporate Communications budget via effective budget utilisation for events, campaigns, activities and programs, to increase exposure and awareness of the Petrosains and PETTVO brand and provide recognition for the company products and services.
 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Mass Communications/Public Relation/Marketing, or any relevant discipline
  • Minimum 7 years working experience preferably in the Public Relations or Corporate Communications environment.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Proficient in English and BM.
  • Creativity and writing skills is a must.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of communications practices, tools and techniques in social media.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to project management with keen sense of strategy and timing.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Willing to travel

JOB PURPOSE

Coordinate, organize and execute departmental administration tasks, procurement and purchasing including daily operational matters for Commercial and Business Department to ensure a smooth, efficient and effective management of the department whilst building loyalty and enhancing Petrosains’ and Petronas Twin Towers Visit brand and positioning.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Department administration
  • Assist Director of Department and coordinate departmental administration demands and necessities through efficient reporting, monitoring, documenting and filing of items related to :- Budget & Expenses, Planners & Calendars, KPI & EPM, Trainings, Meetings, Roster and personnel movements, Travelling related matter ie. Accommodation, Logistic etc, Administer, tracking and monitoring departmental asset, and ensure all relevant information and documents are organized and easily accessible for management and reporting purposes.
Inter Departmental Representatives
  • Liaison officer for Sales and Marketing Department to streamline the details and requirements for department by maintaining thorough knowledge of the marketing and communicate successfully with other departments to develop a greater understanding.
Special Programs
  • Assist in organizing and managing any events that involve partners, clients and other marketing related projects through close discussion/relationship with other Departments and/or stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing projects reports and presentations for management review in order to position Petrosains and Petronas Twin Towers Visit as a leading and credible science centre.
 
Department Finance and Procurement Representative
  • Execute and administer end-to-end finance and procurement and related matters through efficient and effective implementation of systems such as SAP, eProcurement, MDG etc.
  • To ensure all purchasing and procurement process processes involved are systematically and effectively performed with a high standard of integrity, professionalism and quality.
  • To provide administrative support to the Commercial and Business Department including tracking of departmental budget expenditure and overseeing departmental assets requirement via in depth understanding of company standards to ensure desired expectations are met.
  • Liaison person for the GFS team regarding invoices and payments in accordance with company policies and procedures also to Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
 
Training
  • Administer and arrange departmental needs of training programs aligned with the latest and current demands to ensure staff have the opportunity to upskill and reskill for the sustainability and relevance of the staff in the informal STEM learning industry.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience. Fresh graduates with strong academic qualifications will be favourably considered
  • Attentive to details with analytical and good time management skills
  • Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Ability to perform routine task
  • Responsible and reliable
